Any underground structure, from a foundation wall made of concrete or masonry to cementitious end-products, must be protected from contact with the water present in the subsoil in order to prevent wetting and consequent degradation.
The ideal protection cycle must be safe and easy to apply even by normal building site labourers. Before laying the waterproofing membrane, it is important to proceed with the elimination and grouting of spacers and the rounding (fillet) of the angle between the vertical section and the concrete bed with GROVE RIPRISTINO, an anti-shrinkage Thixotropic Mortar in class R3.

The waterproofing in negative pressure of an underground space requires two different cycles for walls and floors.
Walls must be effectively treated with an osmotic system based on NORDCEM PRIMER, a hy- dro-alcoholic osmotic primer and NORDCEM, a waterproofing cement with osmotic penetration, with the addition (if required) of NORDCEM LAST.

The floor must be treated with a multilayer system for wet and green concrete supports made with the laying of the epoxy primer Q-PRIMER and the epoxy, water-based skim coat Q-RASANTE which must be sprinkled with quartz sand to promote adhesion of the subsequent treatments.
The perimeter fillet and the grouting of spacers must be done using NORDGROUTH TIXO – a thixotropic, fibre-reinforced waterproofing R4 mortar.
