Description
FAST FLUID AG is a liquid additive based on inorganic salts for sand and cement screeds with antifreeze and accelerating setting action. FAST FLUID AG is chloride-free. The action of FAST FLUID AG is based on the acceleration of the cement setting reactions which involves the early development, compared to normal times, of the heat of hydration. Heating the mass prevents needle-shaped ice crystals from forming in the mix water that has not yet been chemically combined and increasing in volume. The expansion of crystals in the dough during the setting phase induces significant mechanical stresses that cause the decrease in compactness and mechanical strengths, cracking and surface degradation. Fig. 1 reproduces the curves recorded at +5°C with Vicat's needle on two cement mixtures made with the same OPC, in equal amounts and with the same water/cement ratio: in one there is no admixture, in the other 1.5 percent of FAST FLUID AG was added on cement weight. {tprodotto_disegno1}; Fig. 1: setting time at + 5°C. The use of FAST FLUID AG accelerates the cement setting reactions, anticipating the development of hydration heat.
Field of application
- FAST FLUID AG is used as an accelerating setting and antifreeze additive in the preparation of:
- • Conventional sand-cement screeds.
- • Fibre-fibre sand-cement screeds.
- • Sand-cement screeds coupled with underfloor heating systems.
- FAST FLUID AG can be used in combination with FAST FLUID 300 to accelerate maturation and at the same time produce highly compact sand/cement screeds with improved thermological characteristics.
- FAST FLUID AG is not an additive for cement mortars and concretes.
